Yes. If you have specific genres or songs in mind, Remy works closely with you to seamlessly weave your favourites into his set. Because Forever Grooves is built on a distinct musical style, Remy discusses your preferences from the outset to ensure he is the right fit to bring your vision to life.

What's the difference between an agency and an independent DJ?

An agency will have a roster of DJ’s, which are often assigned based on availability. Forever Grooves is solely operated by Remy. One DJ, which means consistent quality.

Do you travel outside of Melbourne?

Yes, Remy also plays sets in Geelong, Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula and greater Victoria. Interstate travel is also possible.

Do you provide your own gear?

Yes. The standard setup provides premium sound coverage for up to 150 guests, with a professional PA system, decks, wireless microphone, and a sleek DJ booth all included. All Remy requires on-site is access to a 240v power outlet.

Where are you located?

Forever Grooves is located in the inner-north of Melbourne, Victoria. Travel is free for locations <15km radius of Fitzroy. Locations further than this incur a fee of $50/hour.

What is the difference between hiring an independent DJ versus an agency?

Booking through an agency can be a good choice if you want to book multiple types of entertainers from one company. An independent DJ is usually the best option if you already know your sound and want direct communication with the DJ that will actually be playing at your event.

Can I customise the playlist, music genres, and do-not-play list for my event?

Absolutely. Remy will work with you to create custom, tailored playlists and music curation for your event. You can ask for specific styles and genres, as well as artists/songs you don’t want to hear. Have a look at the genres list on the about page to see what Remy usually plays.

Are setup, pack-down, and sound equipment included in the booking?

Yes to all three. Setup and pack-down are included, so you only pay for the actual performance time. The DJ setup consists of high quality PA speakers, decks (digital and/or vinyl), and a custom DJ booth. The set up is 100% self contained, so there’s no need for sound tech or external equipment. Wireless microphone(s) available on request.

What areas in Melbourne and regional Victoria do you service?

Forever Grooves delivers sets in the CBD and Metro Area as well as greater Victoria including Geelong, the Yarra Valley, and the Mornington Peninsula. Interstate bookings and even overseas bookings are possible.

What is the difference between a vinyl DJ set and a standard digital DJ setup?

Common digital DJ setup’s usually consist of CDJ’s, controllers, laptops or other types of digital decks that allows DJ’s to play and mix digital audio files (mp3’s, wav’s, etc). A vinyl setup will usually consist of two turntables and a DJ mixer which are used to play and mix vinyl records.

Do you play exclusively vinyl records, or can digital tracks be incorporated?

Even if you’ve opted for a vinyl set, digital music files can always be incorporated. Sometimes this can be useful if a song you want played during your event is hard to get on vinyl, or in some cases not available on vinyl at all! Remy often uses a digital vinyl system (DVS) to play digital tracks through his turntables, blending them seamlessly alongside physical records.

What types of events do you cater to across Melbourne?

Forever Grooves covers a broad range of private and commercial events including weddings, corporate and private parties across Melbourne. Common events include staff parties/end-of-year functions, awards nights and gala dinner, as well as retail events, product launches or brand activations. Whatever the occasion, the goal is the same: a set that actually fits the vibe of the room, not a generic playlist.

What technical and power requirements are needed at the venue?

The DJ setup is 100% self contained, meaning no external equipment is needed. All Remy will need is a single 240v outlet to plug into. For larger events with an AV crew already on-site, Remy is also happy to work alongside them for seamless integration.

How far in advance should I book a DJ for an event or wedding?

Popular wedding dates in Melbourne often book out 6–12 months ahead, especially for peak season (spring-autumn). For corporate events and private parties, 1 to 3 months notice is usually enough time. If you have a specific date in mind, it’s worth reaching out early to lock it in.

How does the consultation, quote, and booking process work?
